Throughout the COVID pandemic airport chaplains around the world have been called on to support staff and passengers as anxiety issues have increased for those using and working in our airports. At Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport Blair Walker, the Executive Director of the Chaplaincy, introduced meditation sessions for employees and passengers to help with pandemic related anxiety. On the 11th January the British Isles and Ireland Airport Chaplans Network held their first meeting for the year. Although it was on Zoom, it was a good opportunity to reconnect and catch up on each other’s news.
It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Fr Modesto (Steve) Teston who was chaplain at Manila Airport in the Phillipines. Steve was a long time member of the IACAC and hosted the 1988 annual conference in Manila.
Our sympathy and prayers are also extended to Deacon Lewis Rose who lost his son Graeme on the 30th December and to Mr Martyn Scrimshaw on the recent passing of his mother. May they rest in peace and rise in glory. Please hold both Lewis and Martyn in prayer as they grieve.
It was such good news to hear that our friend and former chaplain at Goteburg, Sweden, Mats Linde, has recently become a grandfather when his son and wife welcomed a baby boy into the family.
