Zoom Meeting for Airport Chaplains in Africa

INVITING ALL AIRPORT CHAPLAINS IN AFRICA

Date: On Monday 17th May the Nairobi Chaplaincy team are hosting a Zoom Meeting for all airport chaplains working in Africa.

Time: 2pm/1400 Nairobi time {1100 UTC }

Speakers: Director General Gilbert Kibe of Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, “ How Civil AviationAuthototies and Airport Authorities in Africa can initiiate and support chaplaincy ministry at African airports”.

Rev Pierre de Maureil, Prsident of IACAC, “ Background history of airport chaplaincy in Africa and support of IACAC for chaplaincy”

There will be time for questions, discussion and sharing of experiences.

IACAC 2020 Annual Conference in Nairobi Cancelled

For the second time in its 53 years of existence the IACAC has to cancel its Annual Conference. The COVID-19 pandemic, the uncertainties of how it will evolve, its dramatic effects on the global economy, and, more specifically, on the aviation industry as well as religious organisations that support our members and chaplaincies around the world, has forced this decision.

After a few weeks of thought and much prayer, the IACAC Board met online on 20 April and made the decision to cancel the 2020 IACAC Conference which was to be held in Nairobi, Kenya in October. The decision was made in coordination with our host chaplain, the Rev. Edward Nambute who has agreed to postpone the hosting of the conference to 2021.

President’s Letter | March 2019

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

“In the midst of life we are in death.”

Here’s a challenge for you to consider while you read this article (or scoot straight to the last few paragraphs, if you don’t want to read it all!) where does this verse come from? Old Testament? New Testament? Somewhere else?

This old familiar phrase came to me (as I’m sure it did to many) in the aftermath of the total loss of all 157 souls on board the Ethiopian Airways flight ET 302 from Addis Ababa’s Bole Airport to JKIA Nairobi on Sunday 10 March.

February 2019 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Yes, this is the February Newsletter, but sent out in early March so that we could include a report of the Executive Board’s meeting in Nairobi, Kenya.

Those who were at the Charlotte Annual Business Meeting will remember that the Exec. Board was mandated to work with the bidding Chaplaincy Team in planning the 2020 IACAC Conference in Nairobi, Kenya (the bid from Nairobi being the only invitation for 2020 received at that time).
